P.F. Chang's set to open new Scottsdale Waterfront location

P.F. Chang's China Bistro Inc. is set to open its newest restaurant across the street from the company's original location, which made its debut in July 1993.

In January, the company closed the original store at Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale so it could build a larger store at 7135 E. Camelback Road. It's dubbed the "Waterfront" location, named after the 1.1 million-square-foot development area near the busy intersection of Scottsdale and Camelback roads.

The restaurant opens Monday at 11 a.m., marking it the Scottsdale-based company's 127th P.F. Chang's unit.

"While the Waterfront restaurant can't technically be called the original Chang's anymore, we have restored and expanded the original mural to preserve a little bit of history," said Laura Cherry, spokeswoman for the company.

 

 

 

 

 

The Waterfront location has seating for 188 in the dining room, 16 in the bar area and 100 on the patio. Reservations are accepted and hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

The menu includes Chang's signature items such as lettuce wraps, stir-fried spicy eggplant and crispy honey chicken.

P.F. Chang's China Bistro Inc. (NASDAQ: PFCB) owns and operates two restaurant concepts in the Asian niche, P.F. Chang's China Bistro and the takeout-food-oriented Pei Wei Asian Diner.
